Scott Rowell

Scott Rowell is a professional local artist who specializes in acrylic and oil paintings featuring animals. Upon founding his business wagthebrush.com doing pet commission portraits (primarily dog, cat & horse), Rowell said he married his passions, “I cannot imagine a better fate than rescuing animals and painting pets as long as I can save the tails and wag the brush.” Rowell added, “I got into painting dogs because we rescued all of our dogs, and immortalizing our beloved friends on canvas and in a prominent place in our home was important to me.”

A lifelong artist, Scott has penned comic strips in small publications, crafted various book covers in his youth, designed concert t-shirts for bands, and he has written and illustrated a children's book. He studied art and architecture at the University of Toronto. While living in Bermuda, he was the head set painter for the Bermuda Musical and Dramatic Society.
