Michele Hart Kania

Michele is best known for her realistic portraits, both animal and human. She was born and raised in Media, Pennsylvania. She went to the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, where she received her BFA in Fine Arts in 2002. In 2004, Michele graduated from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, with a Masters in the Art of Teaching Visual Arts. Michele has been teaching art at Penncrest High School for the past 21 years.
Michele’s work is centered around portraits, both animal and human, created in pencil and oil. She enjoys the challenge of making a portrait look realistic, as well as being able to breathe life into a two-dimensional work of art. Michele strives to show personality in her subjects, enabling the viewer to feel who the subject truly is. Michele lives in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania with her husband and dog.
