Janelle Morrison
Janelle Morrison is a Philadelphia based artist who specializes in oil paintings featuring animals. Her art is infused with brushstrokes of the rich experiences and many places she lived and travelled throughout her life. She grew up on the West Coast and moved to the East Coast in 2010.
After a successful corporate career, she pursued her love of art by enrolling in several art courses while living in London. After many years of art classes in cities such as Boston, San Francisco, London and New York she earned a degree in Studio Arts at Delaware County Community College.
She grew up in California surrounded by animals and this love of animals at an early age led her to be inspired to paint them, most of all dogs. She has become known specifically for the way she captures dogs on canvas. She is one of the featured artists at the new White Dog Café in Chester Springs. Dog portraits are one of her favorite things to create because of her love of her own two dogs. She finds being able to portray a dog’s personality on canvas truly rewarding.
She stays closely connected to the local art community by working part time with Wayne Art Center and always continuing to take workshops and classes to hone her skills. She is so grateful for the ability to create this way artistically and has a true passion for the arts.
